Living UP In a Down Economy

Today, when many people are saying how tough things are you can choose to live against the trend of opinion and be a part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

To do this, we must take responsibility for our own futures. Every time people blame the government, banks or the petrol companies for their difficulties, they’re actually making themselves victims and anyone who chooses to live with a victim mentality, will always be struggling in life.

The truth is, that within every challenge in life, there is an equal opportunity to produce something absolutely magnificent. During the great depression of the 1930's when everyone else was struggling to live, Andrew Carnegie built a multi-million dollar steel industry business.  That was back when $1 million was of much greater value than it is today.

Nothing has changed. Whilst many people are jumping on the band wagon saying how bad things are, there are other people who are taking advantage of the situation by asking themselves the question, “Where is the golden opportunity in all this”.

When a negative message is promoted it causes people to stop spending money. They spend less on food, they take the car out less to save on petrol and they do whatever they can to reduce expenditure. People who have investments properties sell them off in panic, fearing the worst. The truth is, that all this panicking actually produces the very thing that they had feared and it increases the downturn in an economy.

We as champions, are choosing to go against the popular trend to become part of the answer and not the problem.

How do I keep an 'up' attitude in down times and make a positive difference?

Speak It Up:

The challenge for as us champions, is to speak it up. We don’t ignore that some people are having difficulties, but we choose to be people who are always speaking what is good about the situation. This says that our lives are not subject to the economy because there is always an answer and an excellent opportunity in every given situation.

Speaking it up also puts our minds in a position to see things from a clear and positive perspective. Answers simply do not come when people are speaking and expecting the worst.

Today is a day of excellent opportunity, so let your words be of a positive confession and watch how your world changes to line up with what you speak.

Think Up:

To overcome through any adversity, we must always be thinking up.  When many people find themselves in challenging situations, they think that all they have to do is to have a 'hold the fort' mentality. They just want things to get back to the way they were.

The champions mentality is to look up and beyond to see that after every challenge they will not get back to the level they were at before, but they will use this situation to take them to even higher places. Your thinking is always your choice and your thinking today will always determine your future. Your greatest challenge may be the very thing that elevates you to see, think and achieve greater success in life if you choose to 'Think Up'!

Spend time every day thinking of reasons why this is an excellent time to be alive.

Act Up:

There is no neutral part to play in life. The way you speak, think and act are either making you part of the problem or part of the answer.

If you are acting as if you are a winner, this will enable you to speak and think that way also.

When you act in a positive manner you don’t only bring positive answers to your life, you are also affecting other people with that attitude wherever you go.

“Any old dead fish can float down stream with the current, but it takes a live fish to swim upstream against the current".  It’s an old saying but a very true one also.

It is always the champions of the world that are able to lead others to safety.

Today, my challenge to you is to 'Speak It Up', 'Think Up' and 'Act Up' to produce the extraordinary from the very thing that others are saying is a down time.

In fact, whenever these three attributes are operating in agreement it doesn’t matter what is happening everywhere else, you will always be living an Expansive Life.
