Growing your Capacity
Growing Your Capacity
The majority of people in all walks of life throughout the world, desire more money or opportunity to live their dreams. This is a natural thing for people to want, although if they have not grown their own personal capacity to hold the things that they are desiring it will soon dissipate or even destroy them.
A good example of this is $million lottery winners. It has been noted that after 1 or 2 years more than 80% of these people have spent or lost all their winnings and are back in the same financial situation as they had started. If you asked them: “Where did all the money go?”, in most cases they wouldn’t be able to tell you. The reason for this is that just as water finds its own level, so do we in the area of finance.
If we have not developed our personal capacity to the size of the inheritance, it will soon disappear. We always live according to the size of our own capacity in every area of life. We all know of other cases where people’s capacity did not match the sudden fame and fortune which was thrust upon them, where it resulted in drugs or breakdown etc. The truth is, there is no shortage of abundance in the world. In fact, it is falling like rain around us all the time. The real shortage is of people who are willing to grow themselves in order to build containers big enough to hold the rain of abundance that is always there and always falling.
How to grow your capacity
The challenges you have in life are the big opportunities to grow your capacity. It is the way you look at them and handle them that will make all the difference. They will either grow you or keep you contained. It all depends on the way you see them.
a. People:
When people are rude to you, can you still keep your cool and not let them ruffle you? If you allow others to change your mood in any situation you are allowing them to control your life, because now they have dictated your mood. Have you ever heard people say: “He or she makes me mad.” What they are actually saying is, that the other person has just controlled their life and put them in a state that they don’t want to be in. This is a victim mentality which stops a person from growing their capacity. By not reacting to other people and keeping yourself in the attitude of your choice you will be growing your capacity.
b. Places:
Sometimes it’s simply the places that life puts us into. Places of change, places of loss, places of difficulty with time, places of stress that no one could have foreseen. The challenge at these times is to be able to see the gold in all of these situations. Anyone who has done mining will tell you that it is not an easy thing to find the gold or precious things they are looking for. The finding of gold is only reserved for those who don’t just look on the surface, but are willing to put in the time and patience to dig down deep knowing that their great reward awaits them if they do not give up the hunt.
Gold is always hidden amongst a lot of dirt and rubble. Whatever the challenges you are facing today there is one thing for sure, and that is amongst those challenges is pure gold if you are willing to put in the effort and search for it. It is the searching that grows our capacity and the finding is the reward which will enlarge our personal capacities to hold more of the abundance that life always has to offer.
Whatever the mood you would like to be in make it a challenge to yourself to always stay in that mood and don’t let people, places or things cause you change it. This will not only put you in the driver’s seat of your life, but it will also grow your capacity which is even better.
c. Purposefully:
The greatest way to grow your capacity is to do it yourself by having big dreams and putting yourself continually in situations that you feel are beyond your capabilities and proving that they are not. If you have a big dream you are going to have to grow so that you will be able to hold it when it arrives. We must think of the kind of person we need to be and then launch out and start doing some of the things that will be required of us when we get there.
When was the last time you did something for the first time? When you are continually conquering things that you previously thought you couldn’t do, then you are really experiencing LIFE!!
Take up the challenge, expand your Capacity and live an Expansive Life.
All the best,
Rick
